When most of think of weddings, we tend to believe there are certain rules that should be followed. Rule 1. Everyone should be suited and booted. Rule 2. The bride must wear white. Rule 3. It has to be a sunny day to be beautiful. However, if there was an ever example that rules are there to be broken, it was Helen and Patrick’s wedding at Audley’s Wood Hotel.

Taking place on the 25th February, there was no sunshine, but romantic rain and instead of a big white dress, Helen looked stunning in a shimmering sequin gown – kept warm with a stylish fur bolero.

Joined by her bridesmaids, in complimenting champagne dresses, Helen arrived at Audley’s Wood Hotel to find Patrick wearing a pair of jeans and check shirt rather than your stereotypical three piece suit.

The couple then enjoyed a romantic, laughter and smile filled ceremony, before we captured some special shots of them with both alone and with their family.

After the photos, the wedding party dug into a delicious wedding feast and were entertained by Patrick and his groomsmen’s speeches.

The day was completed with Helen and Patrick’s first dance and the cutting of their unique and extremely tasty, cheese wedding cake -proving there are no rules for creating a romantic wedding.
