A classic case of love at first sight – 21st century style!
Many of us find that with so little time or opportunities to meet people nowadays, online dating is often the best way to find that special someone.
However, Henry and Tinika’s story is a little different…
Through a mutual friend (who happens to be also be a photographer!) the pair connected on Instagram. When Henry (finally) plucked up the courage to ask Tinika out for a drink, they discovered that they lived 60 miles apart – one side of Hampshire to the other.
But that did little to dampen their enthusiasm and, only a week after their first date, the couple were exploring the cliffs and coastal paths of the Jurassic Coast on a sunny Saturday at Durdle Door!
Fast forward nearly two years, and on a night away in Southsea, Henry took the valiant step of asking Tinika if she would spend the rest of her life with him – catching her off guard by going down on one knee while she was making a brew! This was followed by a romantic trip to view the sunset from the Spinnaker Tower.
And, as I write, Tinika and Henry are busy unpacking boxes and moving into their new home – another step on their journey together.
Having set a date and booked their wedding venue, Tinika and Henry were keen to start filling their photo album with something other than selfies, so we arranged an engagement photoshoot to take place at the beautiful West Wittering Beach.
Come the evening of the photoshoot, we were blessed with clear lighting and a stunning sunset, which provided a perfect backdrop for the fun and natural shots we had planned.
We experimented with smoke bombs and sparklers, and Henry and Tinika enjoyed being involved in shaping the photoshoot and having an active role in deciding the composition of the photos.
The couple seemed really at ease in front of the camera and commented afterwards that they had really enjoyed the experience… even if the temperature plummeted when the sun went down!
