We all dream of a white Christmas, but for Alex and Carrie it was more of a ‘wedding’ Christmas, with their special day taking place on the 20th December. Held at Grittenham Barn, the location was transformed into a winter wonderland with Christmas decorations – including Santa’s very own sleigh!
A sprinkling of Christmas magic was added to the day, with a lucky rainbow appearing over the barn and a beautiful sunset sky before the ceremony.
Complimenting the rustic setting, the groomsmen wore traditional tweed suits and the guests relaxed on vintage furniture. The relaxed atmosphere continued throughout the day, with friends not only doing readings but also conducting the ceremony itself.
The couple then made a sparkler exit before guests dug into tasty buffet food.
Thankfully, no Christmas cracker style jokes were used in the speeches, as the guests were entertained with hilarious anecdotes about the couple.
The evening then saw friends and family rocking around an amazing band rather than a Christmas tree and enjoy a donut wedding cake – an early Christmas present for Alex and Carrie, won in a competition from popular wedding blog, Rock My Wedding.
