I offer both studio (upto 5 people) and outside (1-5+ people) family portrait sessions. I love working outside and in studio, but especially love capturing little kids reactions outside, because they have room to play, run, and be themselves. For those reasons, I encourage you to think of having an outdoor session which I normally do near Felpham (Bognor Regis) or in Midhurst. (Newborn portraits, are always done inside my studio with professional lighting, backgrounds, props and newborn (under 9lbs baby outfits.) Maternity sessions can take place either outside or in my studio in Midhurst (prices vary on studio or outside).
First and foremost, you should be comfortable! For both outdoor family portrait sessions and in my studio I normally recommend neutral colours with plain clothing with no patterns or logos. As little kids are normally fairly active comfy clothing, as I expect that the kids may run around and get a little dirty, as a family you may need to sit on the ground, and we may do some walking around. Comfort is paramount to make sure that you can relax and be yourself in front of the camera.
I do most my family portrait sessions either in my studio or outside near Felpham (Bognor Regis) or in Midhurst. Locations outside of Felpham (Bognor Regis) or Midhurst are subject to a travel fee depending on location.
Always. My visual storytelling style leans toward a candid approach (the kids being hilarious, the dog licking your face), but posed family photographs, where everyone is smiling and looking at the camera, are also treasured keepsakes. We find a way to work both into our session.
My process is a little different from other photographers because I don’t just send you a link to digital files and abandon you! You will be invited to a viewing by zoom screenshare around 4-6 weeks after your session depending on time of year to choose which photographs you receive and have the opportunity to purchase any extras at the same time for a special promotional price available at viewing only. Once you place your order for any extra prints, albums, or matching digital files, everything is delivered to you within a few weeks.
Sure for outside sessions only! I don’t allow them in my studio sorry due to photographing newborn babies.
Pets are totally family members! Let’s just make sure they’re groomed, well behaved, and on a leash. Bring plenty of treats and a few chew toys, to be safe.
