Beautiful and intimate wedding – Nicola and Samuel

“I have been meaning to post this review for a while! But words cannot describe how happy my wife and I are with our wedding photos. Joanna captured all the special moments of our day, even moments we didn’t see ourselves! From the initial conversations we had with Joanna, she was extremely helpful and understood how we wanted our day to be captured, the kind of shots we wanted to have taken. She is always prompt with her responses and goes that extra mile to make suggestionsand check in on things. Joanna’s work really does speak for itself. We even booked an engagement shoot prior to our wedding, Joanna made us feel so relaxed and the end results were fantastic too! On the day of the wedding, Joanna and her amazing assistant (Mum) were brilliant. Adjusting us as needed, pulling out Nicola’s long trail and making it look perfect for the photos. We received all of our photos earlier than expected and they were delivered in a beautiful box for us to cherish along with some prints. The little details really made a difference. We highly recommend Joanna, and will definitely book her again for any future shoots! Thanks again Joanna!”

When Nicola and Samuel first got in touch with me about their Southdowns Manor wedding in Trotton, West Sussex, I was so happy – they were planning the most beautiful countryside wedding with an outdoor ceremony, lawn games and even giant Jenga. Nicola and Samuel are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Bridal prep

I turned up at Southdowns Manor, where the girls were getting ready, and it was so chilled out, because everyone was in a good mood. Nicola wore Elizabeth James Bridal and Samuel wore Suit: Next.Tie: Moss BrothersShirt: T.M Lewin and they looked so gorgeous.

The ceremony

The wedding took place Southdowns Manor, and was a beautiful outdoor ceremony. They had personal vows they wrote themselves, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then we went and did some beautiful portraits.

The reception

The wedding reception took place Southdowns Manor, which was decorated so lovely. It was so personal.

It was a beautifully sunny day, which was perfect. While the guests ate canapes, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our couples session is in the cornfield opposite the venue.

During the reception they played lawn games, which made the reception really chilled. For the wedding breakfast they had a roast dinner, and it was absolutely delicious. After the wedding breakfast they had some wonderful speeches, then the couple cut the wedding cake and the couple had their first dance.

The couple

Nicola and Samuel met on the bus going to college.
